Forbes has recognized NJ Transit as one of the best places to work for the fifth straight year and one of the best large employers in the nation on the 2025 Forbes America’s Best Employers List for the second consecutive year.

NJ Transit officials said the recognition builds upon NJ Transit’s standard of excellence after being named to the inaugural Forbes 2025 America’s Dream Employers list and Forbes’ 2024 America’s Best-in-State Employers list for the fifth time in the last seven years.

“Our customers are at the center of everything we do, and delivering safe and reliable service starts with fostering a culture of excellence among our employees,” NJ Transit President & CEO Kris Kolluri said in a release. “This recognition from Forbes reinforces our commitment to investing in our workforce, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to provide the best possible service to our customers.”

The 2025 Forbes America’s Best Employers List was compiled through independent surveys of more than 217,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people in the United States. The survey was conducted with companies from all industry sectors and took an average of 5-8 minutes to complete.

NJ Transit ranked 591st among large employers nationwide and 24th among employers in the Transportation and Logistics industry.
