Dunedin Railways is entering an exciting new chapter this summer, announcing an expanded service schedule and the reopening of its Station Office at the city’s iconic Dunedin Railway Station.
Starting Sept. 1, trains operate five days a week, Thursday through Monday, including the Taieri Gorge, Seasider, and Victorian.
In another significant step forward, Dunedin Railways has officially reopened its Station Office for the first time since COVID-19, welcoming visitors and tourists back to book tickets, seek information and purchase memorabilia seven days a week.
The updated Station Office hours are:
- Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Rebekah Jenkins, general manager of Dunedin Railways, says the expansion marks a significant milestone for the business, reflecting the momentum and growth Dunedin Railways is experiencing as it continues to reconnect locals and visitors with Dunedin’s heritage, landscapes, and stories.
“With demand increasing, extending our services and reconnecting with visitors in person is an important move forward for us,” Jenkins said.
Dunedin Railways also welcomed a new team member, Alice, as customer service and reservations coordinator. Alice will be the first point of contact for visitors at reception, assisting customers with planning and booking their journeys.
