Passengers at Kings Langley station will benefit from improved accessibility as Network Rail prepares to deliver a major station upgrade funded through the Department for Transport’s Access for All program, Network Rail said.
The £10.6 million scheme will provide a fully accessible route between the station entrance and every platform, making it easier for passengers with reduced mobility to use the station independently. The project will install a new footbridge and three lifts, creating step-free access across the station while improving connectivity for the thousands of passengers who use Kings Langley station each year.
In addition to the new lifts and footbridge, the program will include a range of improvements designed to enhance the station environment, including upgraded lighting, additional CCTV coverage, an enhanced passenger announcement system, improved power supplies and the provision of fire refuge areas.
The project forms part of the Department for Transport’s Access for All program, which is delivering accessibility improvements at stations across the country to help create a more inclusive railway for all users. Network Rail said it is working closely with London Northwestern Railway, which manages the station, to keep passengers moving safely while these essential improvements are delivered.
