Officials in northern Middle Tennessee are exploring adding rail access to an industrial park, according to a newspaper report.
Officials are applying for a grant that could be used to extend an R.J. Corman line that terminates near Cumberland City, Tenn., west of Clarksville, Tenn., to the nearby Stewart-Houston Industrial Park, The Leaf-Chronicle reported.
The line is a remnant of the historic Memphis, Clarksville & Louisville Railroad. R.J. Corman purchased the line 30 years ago and operates the segment as part of its Memphis Line.
