The Louisville & Nashville Railroad’s Humming Bird train first operated on November 17, 1946, and last ran on January 9, 1969.
It connected Cincinnati, Ohio, and New Orleans, Louisiana, serving several cities, including Louisville, Nashville, Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile. Later, the train also connected to Memphis, Tennessee, via Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Additionally, the train offered a connection to Chicago via the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad.
