I’ve noted before how much I enjoy traveling by train across New Jersey. It is one of the great places in this country to take a train.

People equate New Jersey to many things. To me, it’s all about trains.

Duluth is always a great place to watch trains, whether it’s the Southeastern Railway Museum or the Norfolk Southern main line through town.

It was not the best day for railfanning, but I was determined to enjoy a little action. As long as there was some semblance of a roof over my head.

There are “new” stops along the Northeast Corridor. Others — such as North Rahway — are gone, but the line is otherwise much the way I remember it.

The railroad in this popular city east of Atlanta is hard to miss

Its location along the historic Western & Atlantic Railroad line makes Smyrna a great place for watching trains.

Kingston is a great historic railroad town.

The Ohio Railway Museum was founded in 1948, which, backers say, makes it among the oldest railroad museums in the country.
