The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) is giving a $1.7 million grant to the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) as part of a $3.4 million project to rehabilitate 30 miles of the Greenfield Rail Line between Greenfield and Midland.

A federal court in Texas issued an order allowing freight railroads to immediately initiate negotiations over train crew staffing with the union that represents conductors, according to the National Railway Labor Conference (NRLC).

The majority of the 42 railroads subject to the statutory implementation requirement are operating PTC systems in revenue service or in advanced field testing, known as revenue service demonstration (RSD), the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) said.
