Laclede Car Company

William Sutton and Emil Alexander established the Laclede Car Company, a short-lived manufacturer of electric streetcars, in 1883 in St. Louis, Missouri. They later worked at Brownell Car Company and went on to establish the American Car Company. The St. Louis Car Company acquired the Laclede Car Company in 1903.
