Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) General Manager and CEO Jeffrey Parker today said Atlanta needs a “moonshot for transit” to ensure metro Atlanta’s growth as a world-class region.
Atlanta currently has one passenger station in use, serving Amtrak’s Crescent train running between New York and New Orleans. But, the city has a long history with passenger stations.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority’s (MARTA) could soon approve a passenger rail line from its East Point station to Jonesboro and Lovejoy south of Atlanta, according to a newspaper report.
