Today marks the anniversary of the 1869 disaster at Budds Creek on the Memphis, Clarksville & Louisville Railroad.

Montgomery County, Tennessee, declared July 28, 2019, the sesquicentennial of the wreck, as Budds Creek Disaster Day of Remembrance.
